حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ يَعْنِي الْمُعَلِّمَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي حَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، أَنَّ مِحْجَنَ بْنَ الْأَدْرَعِ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ ، فَإِذَا هُوَ بِرَجُلٍ قَدْ قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ وَهُوَ يَتَشَهَّدُ ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِاللَّهِ الْوَاحِدِ الْأَحَدِ الصَّمَدِ الَّذِي لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي ذُنُوبِي ، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَدْ غُفِرَ لَهُ ، قَدْ غُفِرَ لَهُ ، قَدْ غُفِرَ لَهُ " ثَلَاثَ مَرَّار .
It is narrated from Hazrat Mihjan bin Adra’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet entered the mosque and saw a man who had completed his prayer and was saying in the Tashahhud: O Allah! I ask You by Your name, Allah, the One, the Unique, the Self-Sufficient, who has neither begotten nor was begotten, and there is none comparable to Him, that You forgive my sins. Surely, You are Most Forgiving, Most Merciful. Upon hearing this, the Prophet said three times: His sins have been forgiven.
