حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَقِيلٍ هَاشِمِ بْنِ بِلَالٍ ، عَنْ سَابِقِ بْنِ نَاجِيَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَّامٍ ، قَالَ أَبُو النَّضْرِ : الْحَبَشِيُّ ، قَالَ : مَرَّ بِهِ رَجُلٌ فِي مَسْجِدِ حِمْصَ ، فَقِيلَ : هَذَا خَدَمَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ : حَدِّثْنِي حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَتَدَاوَلْهُ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ الرِّجَالُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَقُولُ حِينَ يُمْسِي وَحِينَ يُصْبِحُ : رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا ، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا ، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيًّا ، ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ إِلَّا كَانَ حَقًّا عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنْ يُرْضِيَهُ " .
Abu Salam says that a man was passing through the mosque of Homs, and people said that this person has served the Prophet (peace be upon him). I got up and went to him and requested, "Tell me a hadith which you yourself have heard from the Prophet, with no intermediary between you and him." He replied, "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Whoever, every morning and evening, says these words three times: 'I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad (peace be upon him) as my Prophet,' then it is Allah's right to please him on the Day of Resurrection."
