It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite aloud in some prayers and remain silent in others. Therefore, in those prayers in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited aloud, we also recite, and in those in which he remained silent, we also remain silent. Someone said, "Perhaps the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite quietly?" At this, he became angry and said, "Will the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) be accused now as well?"
