It is narrated from Hazrat Wa'il (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was present in the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when two men came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a dispute over a piece of land. One of them said, "O Messenger of Allah! This person seized my land during the time of ignorance." (The one who said this was Amr al-Qais bin Abis Kindi and his opponent was Rabee'ah bin Abdan.) The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) demanded witnesses from him, but he said, "I have no witnesses." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then he will take an oath." He said, "In that case, he will take my land." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "There is no other solution besides this." When the other man began to take the oath, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Whoever unjustly seizes someone else's land will meet Allah on the Day of Resurrection in such a state that Allah will be angry with him."
