Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I said to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that today I performed the Zuhr prayer in Wadi Batha behind a foolish old man, and he said "Allahu Akbar" twenty-two times in one prayer. He would say "Allahu Akbar" even when he went into prostration and when he raised his head from it. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: This is how the prayer of Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to be.
