حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ . وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الَأْسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْعَبْدِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جُنْدُبَ بْنَ سُفْيَانَ الْعَلَقِيَّ حَيٌّ مِنْ بَجِيلَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الأْضْحَى عَلَى قَوْمٍ قَدْ ذَبَحُوا أَوْ نَحَرُوا وقَوْمٍ لَمْ يَذْبَحُوا أَوْ لَمْ يَنْحَرُوا ، فَقَالَ : " مَنْ ذَبَحَ أَوْ نَحَرَ قَبْلَ صَلَاتِنَا ، فَلْيُعِدْ ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَذْبَحْ أَوْ يَنْحَرْ ، فَلْيَذْبَحْ أَوْ يَنْحَرْ بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was present with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at the time when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned after offering the Eid al-Adha prayer and saw meat and slaughtered sacrificial animals. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) understood that these animals had been slaughtered before the Eid prayer. So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever has offered the sacrifice before the Eid prayer should offer another sacrifice in its place, and whoever has not slaughtered the animal before the Eid prayer should now slaughter it, taking the name of Allah.
