حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَا : حدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ ، قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ : إِنَّهُ شَهِدَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ : سُوَيْدُ بْنُ طَارِقٍ . وَقَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ أَوْ طَارِقُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ الْجُعْفِيُّ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْخَمْرِ ، فَنَهَاهُ . فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ.
Haddathana Hajjaj ibn Muhammad and Muhammad ibn Ja'far, they said: Haddathana Shu'bah, from Simak ibn Harb, from Alqamah ibn Wa'il, from his father Wa'il ibn Hujr al-Hadrami, Hajjaj said: He witnessed the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and a man from Khath'am asked him, called Suwayd ibn Tariq. Ibn Ja'far said: or Tariq ibn Suwayd al-Ju'fi asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about khamr (intoxicants), and he forbade him. Then he mentioned the hadith.
