حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ يَعْمَرَ الدِّيلِيَّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنِ الْحَجِّ ، فَقَالَ : " الْحَجُّ يَوْمُ عَرَفَاتٍ ، أَوْ عَرَفَةَ ، مَنْ أَدْرَكَ لَيْلَةَ جَمْعٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ الصُّبْحَ ، فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الْحَجَّ ، أَيَّامُ مِنًى ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ ، فَمَنْ تَعَجَّلَ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ ، فَلَا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ وَمَنْ تَأَخَّرَ ، فَلَا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Ya'mar (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about Hajj on the day of Arafah. I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Hajj is (essentially) on the day of Arafah. Whoever reaches the plain of Arafat before the dawn prayer on the night of Muzdalifah, his Hajj is complete. And the days of Mina are three. So whoever returns after two days, there is no sin upon him, and whoever returns later, there is also no sin upon him."
