Hadith 18582

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ يُحَدِّثُ قَوْمًا فِيهِمْ كَعْبُ بْنُ عُجْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لِلْأَنْصَارِ : " إِنَّكُمْ سَتَلْقَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً " . قَالُوا : فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا ؟ قَالَ : " اصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي عَلَى الْحَوْضِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying to the Ansar: After me, you will face preferential treatment. They asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! Then what do you command us to do?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Be patient until you meet me at the Pond of Kawthar."
