Hadith 18578

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ الرُّكَيْنِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَدِيَّ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ ، قَالَ : مَرَّ بِنَا نَاسٌ مُنْطَلِقُونَ ، فَقُلْنَا أَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ ؟ فَقَالُوا : " بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ أَتَى امْرَأَةَ أَبِيهِ أَنْ نَقْتُلَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day some people passed by us. We asked them, "Where are you headed?" They replied, "The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has sent us to a man who, after his father's death, married his father's wife (stepmother), and he has commanded us to kill him."
