It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) traveled from Madinah Munawwarah. He did not fear anyone except Allah, yet even so, until he returned, he performed the prayer as two rak‘ahs (shortened the prayer).
