حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ ، عَنْ يُسَيْعٍ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الدُّعَاءُ هُوَ الْعِبَادَةُ " ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ : ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ سورة غافر آية 60 " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Nu’man (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Supplication is the essence of worship. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "Call upon Me; I will respond to your supplication."
