حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا بَعَثَ عَلِيٌّ عَمَّارًا وَالْحَسَنَ إِلَى الْكُوفَةِ لِيَسْتَنْفِرَاهُمْ ، فَخَطَبَ عَمَّارٌ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّهَا زَوْجَتُهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ، وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ابْتَلَاكُمْ لِتَتَّبِعُوهُ أَوْ إِيَّاهَا " .
Abu Wa'il says that when Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) sent Hazrat Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) and Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) to Kufa so that they could persuade the people to set out, Hazrat Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a speech there and said: I know that Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) is the noble wife of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in this world and the Hereafter, but Allah Almighty has tested you in this trial as to whether you follow him or Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her).
