حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ ثَرْوَانَ بْنِ مِلْحَانَ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا جُلُوسًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَمَرَّ عَلَيْنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ يَاسِرٍ ، فَقُلْنَا لَهُ حَدِّثْنَا مَا سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي الْفِتْنَةِ ، فَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " يَكُونُ بَعْدِي قَوْمٌ يَأْخُذُونَ الْمُلْكَ ، يَقْتُلُ عَلَيْهِ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا " . قَالَ : قُلْنَا لَهُ : لَوْ حَدَّثَنَا غَيْرُكَ مَا صَدَّقْنَاهُ ! قَالَ : فَإِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ.
Tharwan bin Milhan (may Allah be pleased with him) says that once we were sitting in the mosque when Hazrat Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by us. We requested him regarding tribulations, "Have you heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say that after me, there will come a people who will kill each other for the sake of gaining power?" We said to him, "If anyone other than you had narrated this hadith to us, we would never have believed it." He replied, "This will certainly happen."
