Hadith 18248

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدَانُ الْجُهَنِيُّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ خَلِيفَةَ الطَّائِيِّ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَتَّقِيَ النَّارَ فَلْيَتَصَدَّقْ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ ، فَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَبِكَلِمَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever among you can save himself from Hell, even if it be by giving only a piece of date, then he should do so; and if he does not find even that, then he should speak a good word.
