حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ الْمَعْنَى ، قَالاَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ الطَّائِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا سَيُكَلِّمُهُ رَبُّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُ تُرْجُمَانٌ ، فَيَنْظُرُ عَمَّنْ أَيْمَنَ مِنْهُ ، فَلَا يَرَى إِلَّا شَيْئًا قَدَّمَهُ ، وَيَنْظُرُ عَمَّنْ أَشْأَمَ مِنْهُ ، فَلَا يَرَى إِلَّا شَيْئًا قَدَّمَهُ ، وَيَنْظُرُ أَمَامَهُ ، فَتَسْتَقْبِلُهُ النَّارُ ، فَمَنْ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَتَّقِيَ النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ فَلْيَفْعَلْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is not a single person among you with whom his Lord will not speak directly without any interpreter. He will look to his right and will see only what he has sent forth; he will look to his left and will see only what he has sent forth; and when he looks in front of him, he will find the Fire of Hell facing him. Therefore, whoever among you can save himself from Hell, even if it be by giving half a date in charity, then let him do so.
