It is narrated from Sayyiduna Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that one day I went out with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Suddenly, a deer passed near us and entered a hole. I caught it and said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! Have you taken an omen? He said: "Omens are only in things that have already passed."
