It is narrated from Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out to relieve himself. After a short while, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned, and I brought water to serve the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and kept pouring water. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) first washed both hands thoroughly, then washed his face. After that, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to roll up his sleeves from his arms, but the Syrian cloak that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing had tight sleeves, so they could not be rolled up. Therefore, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took both hands out from underneath and, after washing them, wiped over the leather socks.
