Hadith 1822

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ الْفَضْلِ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ خَثْعَمٍ , قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , إِنَّ أَبِي أَدْرَكَتْهُ فَرِيضَةُ اللَّهِ فِي الْحَجِّ ، وَهُوَ شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ , لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَسْتَوِيَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ بَعِيرِهِ ، قَالَ : " فَحُجِّي عَنْهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Fadl (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman from the tribe of Khath'am came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! The obligation of Hajj has been imposed by Allah upon my father, but he has become so old that he cannot even sit on a mount. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Perform Hajj on his behalf."
