Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that once I was with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, “Mughirah, pick up the water container.” I picked it up and set out with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to relieve himself and disappeared from my sight, so I could no longer see the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). After a short while, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned and asked for water. He began to roll up his sleeves from his arms, but the Syrian cloak that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing had tight sleeves, so they could not be rolled up. Thus, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took both hands out from underneath, washed his face and hands, wiped his head, and wiped over his socks.
