Hadith 18154

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، قَالَ : خَطَبْتُ امْرَأَةً ، فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَظَرْتَ إِلَيْهَا ؟ " قُلْتُ : لَا ، قَالَ : " فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا ، فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I sent a proposal of marriage to a woman. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "Have you seen her?" I said, "No." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Go and see her first, because this will increase love between you."
