حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، أَنَّهُ صَحِبَ قَوْمًا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ، فَوَجَدَ مِنْهُمْ غَفْلَةً ، فَقَتَلَهُمْ ، وَأَخَذَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ ، فَجَاءَ بِهَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " فَأَبَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَقْبَلَهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he was with a group of polytheists. When he found the polytheists inattentive, he killed them and brought their wealth and possessions, and presented them to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) refused to accept it.
