Hadith 18141

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْكِلَابِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُجَالِدٌ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، قَالَ : وَضَّأْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ ، فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَذِرَاعَيْهِ ، وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ ، وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَلَا أَنْزِعُ خُفَّيْكَ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا ، إِنِّي أَدْخَلْتُهُمَا وَهُمَا طَاهِرَتَانِ ، ثُمَّ لَمْ أَمْشِ حَافِيًا بَعْدُ " ثُمَّ صَلَّى صَلَاةَ الصُّبْح .
It is narrated from Hazrat Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I assisted the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in performing ablution during a journey. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) washed his face and arms and wiped over his head and his leather socks. I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Should I not remove your socks?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "No, I put them on while I was in a state of ablution, so I did not take them off after that." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the Fajr prayer in this manner.
