حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ ، قَالاَ : أَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدَةُ بْنُ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ ، أَنَّ وَرَّادًا مَوْلَى الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ كَتَبَ إِلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ كَتَبَ ذَلِكَ الْكِتَابَ لَهُ وَرَّادٌ : إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ حِينَ يُسَلِّمُ : " لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، اللَّهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ ، وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ ، وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ " . قَالَ وَرَّادٌ : ثُمَّ وَفَدْتُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَأْمُرُ النَّاسَ بِذَلِكَ الْقَوْلِ ، وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُوهُ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Mughira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Muawiya (may Allah be pleased with him) was written a letter—written by his scribe Waraad—that I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying these words at the time of concluding the prayer: "There is no deity except Allah, He is One, He has no partner, sovereignty belongs to Him and all praise is for Him. O Allah! No one can withhold what You give, and no one can give what You withhold, and the status of any person of status cannot benefit him before You." Waraad says that after this, once I was present in the service of Hazrat Muawiya (may Allah be pleased with him), and I heard him from the pulpit instructing people to say these words; he was teaching these words to the people.
