It is narrated from Hazrat Amr bin Khariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about the sacrificial animal that is near death. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Slaughter it, dye its hoof in its blood, and apply it to its forehead or side, and neither you nor your companions should eat anything from it, and leave it for the people.
