Abu Qilabah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, many preachers stood up in Ilya. Among the last of them, a companion named Marrah bin Ka'b stood up and said: "If I had not heard this hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I would never have stood up. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once mentioned a tribulation. During that time, a veiled man passed by. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw him and said: 'On that day, he and his companions will be upon the truth.' I followed him, grabbed his shoulder, turned his face towards the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and asked, 'This man?' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'Yes!' I saw that it was Hazrat Uthman Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him)."
