Hadith 17988

حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، أَنَّ أُسَيْدَ بْنَ حُضَيْرِ بْنِ سِمَاكٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، قَالَ : كَتَبَ مُعَاوِيَةُ إِلَى مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ إِذَا سُرِقَ الرَّجُلُ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ.
Narrated to us by Hawdhah ibn Khalifah, narrated to us by Ibn Jurayj, he said: Ikrimah ibn Khalid narrated to me, that Usayd ibn Hudayr ibn Simak narrated to him, he said: Muawiyah wrote to Marwan ibn al-Hakam regarding when a man steals, then he mentioned the hadith.
