Hadith 17875

حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الضَّبِّيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَعَ الْغُلَامِ عَقِيقَةٌ ، أَرِيقُوا عَنْهُ دَمًا ، وَأَمِيطُوا عَنْهُ الْأَذَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Perform 'aqiqah on the birth of a boy; remove impurities, etc., and sacrifice an animal on his behalf.
