حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ذَكْوَانَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ مَوْلًى لِعَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، أَنَّهُ أَرْسَلَهُ إِلَى عَلِيٍّ يَسْتَأْذِنُهُ عَلَى أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ عُمَيْسٍ ، فَأَذِنَ لَهُ ، حَتَّى إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ حَاجَتِهِ ، سَأَلَ الْمَوْلَى عَمْرًا عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَانَا أَوْ نَهَى أَنْ نَدْخُلَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِ أَزْوَاجِهِنَّ " .
Hazrat Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) once asked one of his slaves the reason for seeking permission from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) to meet his wife, Hazrat Asma bint Umais (may Allah be pleased with her). So Hazrat Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade us from going to women without the permission of their husbands.
