Hadith 17804

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَن إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَن عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جِهَارًا غَيْرَ سِرٍّ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ آلَ أَبِي فُلَانٍ لَيْسُوا لِي بِأَوْلِيَاءَ ، إِنَّمَا وَلِيِّيَ اللَّهُ وَصَالِحُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) openly saying: The family of so-and-so are not my friends; my friend is Allah and the righteous believers.
