Hadith 17767

Hazrat Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) once sent his servant to Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) to seek permission to meet his wife, Hazrat Asma bint Umais (may Allah be pleased with her). Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) granted him permission. He spoke to her regarding some matter and then returned. Upon coming out, the servant asked him the reason for seeking permission. Hazrat Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from going to women without the permission of their husbands.
