Hadith 17742

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Tha’labah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I submitted in the court of Prophethood, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him), please tell me which things are lawful for me and which things are unlawful?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head and looked at me from bottom to top and said, "Virtue is that which brings peace to the soul and satisfaction to the heart, and sin is that in which neither the soul finds peace nor the heart finds satisfaction, even if the muftis keep giving verdicts." And he said, "Do not go near the meat of domesticated donkeys and any predatory animal that hunts with its fangs."
