Hadith 17722

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي لَيْثٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ الْكِنْدِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الثَّيِّبُ تُعْرِبُ عَنْ نَفْسِهَا ، وَالْبِكْرُ رِضَاهَا صَمْتُهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A previously married woman will express her consent verbally in the case of a second marriage, and the silence of a virgin is her consent.
