حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ ضَمْضَمِ بْنِ زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدٍ السُّلَمِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " يَأْتِي الشُّهَدَاءُ وَالْمُتَوَفَّوْنَ بِالطَّاعُونِ ، فَيَقُولُ أَصْحَابُ الطَّاعُونِ : نَحْنُ شُهَدَاءُ ، فَيُقَالُ : انْظُرُوا ، فَإِنْ كَانَتْ جِرَاحُهُمْ كَجِرَاحِ الشُّهَدَاءِ تَسِيلُ دَمًا رِيحَ الْمِسْكِ ، فَهُمْ شُهَدَاءُ . فَيَجِدُونَهُمْ كَذَلِكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Utbah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Those who die in the plague and the martyrs will come. The people of the plague will say, "We are martyrs." The Lord will say, "Look at their wounds. If their wounds are fragrant like the wounds of the martyrs, then they will be counted among the martyrs and will be with them." When it will be seen, their wounds will resemble the wounds of the martyrs.
