حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَوْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرَةَ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النِّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَوْ أَنَّ عَبْدًا خَرَّ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ مِنْ يَوْمِ وُلِدَ إِلَى أَنْ يَمُوتَ هَرَمًا فِي طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ ، لَحَقَرَه ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ ، وَلَوَدَّ أَنَّهُ رُدَّ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا كَيْمَا يَزْدَادَ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ وَالثَّوَابِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Utbah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a person is given the opportunity to spend every single moment from the day of his birth until his death in old age in the pleasure of Allah, even then on the Day of Resurrection he will consider it little and insignificant, and he will wish to be sent back to the world so that he may attain more reward and recompense.
