حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي بَقِيَّةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي بَحِيرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ ، عَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : إِنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، الْعَنْ أَهْلَ الْيَمَنِ ، فَإِنَّهُمْ شَدِيدٌ بَأْسُهُمْ ، كَثِيرٌ عَدَدُهُمْ ، حَصِينَةٌ حُصُونُهُمْ . فَقَالَ : " لَا " ، ثُمَّ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْأَعْجَمِيِّينَ ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا مَرُّوا بِكُمْ يَسُوقُونَ نِسَاءَهُمْ ، يَحْمِلُونَ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ عَلَى عَوَاتِقِهِمْ ، فَإِنَّهُمْ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Utbah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man submitted in the court of the Prophet, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) Curse the people of Yemen, for they are fierce warriors, numerous in number, and possess strong forts." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the non-Arabs and said, "When the people of Yemen pass by you carrying their women and their children on their shoulders, they are from me and I am from them."
