حَدِیث خَیثَمَةَ بنِ عَبدِ الرَّحمَنِ ، عَن اَبِیهِ رَضِیَ اللَّه تَعَالَى عَنهمَاHadith of Khaythamah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from his father (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 17604

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ اسْمُ أَبِي فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ عَزِيزًا ، فَسَمَّاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ " .
Khaitamah narrates from his father that in the time of ignorance, his father's name was Aziz, which the Prophet (peace be upon him) changed to Abdur Rahman.
