حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ الرَّمَّاحِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَهْلٍ كَثِيرِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْبَصْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ يَعْلَى بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبسِيهِ ، عن جَدِّهِ ، " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ انْتَهَى إِلَى مَضِيقٍ هُوَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ ، وَالسَّمَاءُ مِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ ، وَالْبَلَّةُ مِنْ أَسْفَلَ مِنْهُمْ ، فَحَضَرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ ، فَأَمَرَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ ، فَأَذَّنَ وَأَقَامَ ، ثُمَّ تَقَدَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ ، فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ يُومِئُ إِيمَاءً ، يَجْعَلُ السُّجُودَ أَخْفَضَ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ ، أَوْ يَجْعَلُ سُجُودَهُ أَخْفَضَ مِنْ رُكُوعِهِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was with his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) in a narrow place. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was mounted on his ride, rain was falling from above, and the whole ground below was wet. The time for prayer arrived. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the muezzin, who gave the call to prayer and the iqamah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) moved his mount forward and led the prayer by making gestures in that state, bowing lower for prostration than for bowing.
