حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حَفْصِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو ، أَوْ أَبَا عَمْرِو بْنَ حَفْصٍ الثَّقَفِيَّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ يَعْلَى بْنَ مُرَّةَ الثَّقَفِيَّ قَالَ : رَآنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُخَلَّقًا ، فَقَالَ : " أَلَكَ امْرَأَةٌ ؟ " قُلْتُ : لَا . قَالَ : " اغْسِلْهُ ، ثُمَّ اغْسِلْهُ ، ثُمَّ اغْسِلْهُ ، وَلَا تَعُدْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the fragrance called Khaluq applied on me, so he asked, "Have you gotten married?" I replied, "No." He said, "Then go and wash it off three times and do not apply it again."
