حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَعْلَى ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ حُكَيْمَةَ ، عن أَبِيهَا يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : يَزِيدُ فِيمَا يَرْوِي يَعْلَى بْنُ مُرَّةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ الْتَقَطَ لُقَطَةً يَسِيرَةً ، دِرْهَمًا أَوْ حَبْلًا أَوْ شِبْهَ ذَلِكَ ، فَلْيُعَرِّفْهُ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ فَلْيُعَرِّفْهُ سِتَّةَ أَيَّامٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever finds a lost item that is of little value, such as a dirham or a rope, should announce it for three days. If he wishes to increase this, he may announce it for up to six days.
