Hadith 17553

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عن عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عن يَعْلَى بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبِي رَدْعٌ مِنْ زَعْفَرَانٍ ، قَالَ : " اغْسِلْهُ ، ثُمَّ اغْسِلْهُ ، ثُمَّ اغْسِلْهُ ، ثُمَّ لَا تَعُدْ " قَالَ : فَغَسَلْتُهُ ، ثُمَّ لَمْ أَعُدْ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Ya'la (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw traces of saffron on me, so he said, "Go and wash it off three times and do not apply it again." So I washed it off and did not apply it again.
