Hadith 17530

It is narrated from a Thaqafi companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that we requested three things from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not grant us permission. We said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that our region is very cold, so allow us not to perform ablution before prayer, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not permit this. Then we asked for permission to use gourds as vessels, but at that time, he did not permit that either. Then we requested that Abu Bakrah be handed over to us, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) refused and said, "He is freed by Allah and His Messenger." In fact, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) besieged Ta’if, Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) left from there and accepted Islam. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.
