حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ الدُّورِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو رِمْثَةَ ، أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَهُ ابْنٌ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " ابْنُكَ هَذَا ؟ " قَالَ : نَعَمْ . قَالَ : " أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ ، وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Rimthah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I went to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taking my son along with me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Is this your son?" I replied, "Yes (I bear witness to it)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You will not be held responsible for any crime of his, nor will he be held responsible for any crime of yours."
