حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، وَأَبُو النَّضْرِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، وَقَالَ : أَسْوَدُ أَخْبَرَنِي يَعْلَى بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ السُّوَائِيَّ ، عن أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصُّبْحَ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ . قَالَ : ثُمَّ ثَارَ النَّاسُ يَأْخُذُونَ بِيَدِهِ يَمْسَحُونَ بِهَا وُجُوهَهُمْ ، قَالَ : فَأَخَذْتُ بِيَدِهِ فَمَسَحْتُ بِهَا وَجْهِي ، فَوَجَدْتُهَا أَبْرَدَ مِنَ الثَّلْجِ ، وَأَطْيَبَ رِيحًا مِنَ الْمِسْكِ.
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain. Then one of them said, "O Messenger of Allah! (peace be upon him), please supplicate for forgiveness for me." So the Prophet (peace be upon him) supplicated for him. Then people began to get up and go towards the Prophet (peace be upon him), and I also sat with them. At that time, I was a strong young man. Making my way through the crowd, I reached the Prophet (peace be upon him) and took hold of his blessed hand and began to rub it on my face or chest. I have never seen a hand more fragrant and cooler than the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace be upon him). At that time, the Prophet (peace be upon him) was in the Mosque of Khayf.
