حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُشَّانَةَ حَيُّ بْنُ يُؤْمِنَ الْمَعَافِرِيُّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " تَدْنُو الشَّمْسُ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ فَيَعْرَقُ النَّاسُ ، فَمِنْ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ عَرَقُهُ عَقِبَيْهِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ إِلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ الْعَجُزَ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ الْخَاصِرَةَ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ مَنْكِبَيْهِ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ عُنُقَهُ ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ وَسَطَ فِيهِ ، وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ فَأَلْجَمَهَا فَاهُ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُشِيرُ هَكَذَا وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يُغَطِّيهِ عَرَقُهُ " ، وَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ إِشَارَةً.
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: On the Day of Resurrection, the sun will come extremely close to the earth, due to which people will be drenched in sweat. Thus, the sweat of some will reach up to their ankles, some up to half of their shins, some up to their knees, some up to their thighs, some up to their waists, some up to their shoulders, some up to their necks, and some will have sweat up to the middle of their mouths, and it will be in their mouths like a bridle. I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) indicating this, and some will be completely submerged in their sweat.
