حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، وَمُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، أَنَّ غُلَامًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَالَ مُوسَى فِي حَدِيثِهِ : سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ أُمِّي مَاتَتْ وَتَرَكَتْ حُلِيًّا ، أَفَأَتَصَدَّقُ بِهِ عَنْهَا ؟ قَالَ : " أُمُّكَ أَمَرَتْكَ بِذَلِكَ ؟ " ، قَالَ : لَا ، قَالَ : " فَأَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ حُلِيَّ أُمِّكَ " ، حَدَّثَنَاه أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي الْمُقْرِئَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "My mother has passed away and she has left behind some jewelry. Should I give it in charity?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked him, "Did she instruct you to do so?" He replied, "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Then keep your mother's jewelry safe." This is also narrated in the previous hadith with this second chain of narration.
