Abu Ali Hamdani (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I set out on a journey, and Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) was with us. We requested him to lead us in prayer. (He refused and) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever leads people in prayer, offering it on time and completely, he will receive the reward as will the followers; but whoever is negligent in it, its burden will be upon him alone, not upon the followers.
