Abu Al-Khair says that once I saw Abu Tamim Jaishani (may Allah have mercy on him) performing two rak'ahs after hearing the adhan of Maghrib prayer, so I went to Hazrat Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "Are you not surprised at Abu Tamim's action that he performs two rak'ahs before Maghrib prayer?" My intention was to lower Abu Tamim in the eyes of Hazrat Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him), but Hazrat Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "We also used to do this during the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." I asked, "Then why do you not do it now?" He replied, "Because of being occupied."
