حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ الضَّمْرِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الرُّعَيْنِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَالِكٍ أَخْبَرَهُ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ أُخْتَهُ نَذَرَتْ أَنْ تَمْشِيَ حَافِيَةً غَيْرَ مُخْتَمِرَةٍ ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ عُقْبَةُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مُرْ أُخْتَكَ فَلْتَرْكَبْ وَلْتَخْتَمِرْ ، وَلْتَصُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ " .
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) that the sister of Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) had vowed to perform Hajj on foot without wearing a shawl. Hazrat Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about this, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: What will Allah do with your sister’s hardship? Instruct her to wear a shawl, ride (an animal), and fast for three days.
