Hadith 17323

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَطَّافٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَرْمَلَةَ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ جُهَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَئِمَّةٌ مِنْ بَعْدِي ، فَإِنْ صَلَّوْا الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا ، فَأَتِمُّوا الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ ، فَهِيَ لَكُمْ وَلَهُمْ ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يُصَلُّوا الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا ، وَلَمْ يُتِمُّوا رُكُوعَهَا وَلَا سُجُودَهَا ، فَهِيَ لَكُمْ وَعَلَيْهِمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Soon after me, some rulers will come over you. If they perform the prayers on time and complete the bowing and prostration, then it will be a source of reward for you and for them. But if they do not perform the prayers on time and do not complete the bowing and prostration, then you will still receive the reward, and it will be a burden upon them.
